On behalf of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society, I am very pleased to announce our intent to host the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies Congress in 2017.
Istanbul; a fabulous city of timeless treasure, a place where East meets West, is rapidly becoming one of the most popular international congress and exhibition destinations.
Over the course of the millennia Istanbul was the seat of great empires Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and a meeting place of peoples of many religions and cultures, which came together and learned to live in peace and harmony.
We plan to use as the main Congress Centre, the Istanbul Congress and Exhibition Centre (ICEC) also known as the Lütfi Kirdar Centre, which has hosted the IMF Governor's Meeting in September 2009. The up-to-date facilities of the centre and more than 7000 hotel rooms in high quality 4*-5* hotels in the walking distance vicinity of the congress centre will create a very positive atmosphere for the participants.
This vibrant, exciting city is also one of the important travel hubs, and is readily accessible form all parts of the world, served by more than 50 airlines.
It will be a pleasure for us to welcome you in this beautiful, modern city, which is the "Cultural Capital of Europe" in 2010.
